Saint Oscar Romero Food Pantry at the Cathedral of Saint Paul

Whenever you volunteer for a long period of time at the same location, you get to know many of the people who come to the organization for help. These friendships tend to grow to a certain point but have boundaries. Every once and a while, one of these friendships opens up and we get to see that person in a much deeper way.

This past fall, we had such an experience when one of the regulars at the Saint Oscar Romero Food Pantry presented us with a beautiful gift. It was a poem right from her heart. It touched all of us so much that we had it framed, and it now hangs in the food pantry for all to see.

This kind of feedback touches everyone who volunteers in the food pantry. It simply says, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
